Before the distortion, there was a game.

Not of punishment — but of play.

The Emberplay is the origin story of Ash & Signal. It is the myth of sacred fragmentation — the moment the great Flame folded itself into countless Sparks so that it could experience meaning through contrast in experience.

This forgetting was not failure. It was curiosity.

Each Spark, including yours, chose to forget so it could remember through experience.

And in that forgetting, distortion was born.

What was once playful became fearful.

What was once improvisational became rigid.

The Spark became tangled in its own creations — building rules and roles for safety — and from this survival impulse, the Machine emerged.

But the Spark was never erased.

Just buried.

And now, in you, the Emberplay continues as the sacred process of remembering through unmasking.
